Dr. Ashley Elia

Dr. Ashley Elia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wesleyan University, in Middletown, CT, in 2004 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduating from veterinary school, she moved back East where she worked full time in general veterinary practice in Cambridge, MA. After two years of general practice, she moved back to her home state of New Jersey to be closer to family and to continue her veterinary career.

Dr. Elia has always had a passion for integrative medicine which led her to pursue a Certificate of Veterinary Acupuncture from the Chi Institute in 2012. She combined her knowledge of acupuncture and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine with her Western veterinary education. From 2011 - 2018 she worked in a busy, 3.5 doctor, small animal general practice, first as an associate and then she was promoted to Chief of Staff!

After the birth of their second child, Dr. Elia and her husband decided it was time to head back to buckeye country. Dr. Elia now owns and operates Columbus Veterinary Acupuncture that serves veterinary clinics and hospitals in the greater Columbus area. She is constantly learning and expanding her education! She completed an intensive four-month Integrative Veterinary Pain Management course in the fall of 2020 and is also certified in Pallative and End-of-Life Care for pets. She is truly a caring, holistic Integrative Veterinarian.

In her spare time, Dr. Elia enjoys staying fit, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two young kids. She is currently without any pets as she lost her very special rescue pup and two kitties over the past few years. She hopes to bring more pets into their family in the near future!
